DGT had taken initiative in 2018 for awarding “STAR Rating” of ITIs, a standard quality assurance mechanism and to facilitate a benchmark for comparison amongst the institutes. There were 03 parts – (i) Self Rating by ITIs (ii) Physical Inspection by third party i.e. M/s CRISIL to the ITIs (iii) Publication of STAR Rating by DGT,GoI. The Grading/Rating Process was also very important for sanction of fund/ selection of ITIs under on-going World Bank assisted Project – STRIVE, an EAP.
