The Institute was established in 1965 in the name of Junior Technical School, Sabrakone (Govt. Spons) under the supervision of the Chief Inspector, Technical Education, Govt. of WB. The students of Jr.Tech. School, received Jr.Dip. in Engg. Exam. Certificates from the State Council for Engg. & Tech. Education, Govt of WB. Most of pass outs of them were able to receive Higher Education in Engg/General Strem of Education and engaged in different Govt/Non-Govt Sectors mainly in West Bengal.   In 1990, Govt. of WB started NCVT Trade Courses in ‘M’ Group Trades having Electrician, Fitter and Turner.
