The Government Industrial Training
Institute (ITI), Gariahat was established in 1948. Located in the heart of the
Kolkata city and with a sprawling campus, it is one of the premier institutes
for vocational training in the Eastern Region of the country. With modern
infrastructural facilities and well-equipped laboratories and workshops, the
Institute is fully geared to offer high quality education and training in a
wide range of trades.
ITI Gariahat imparts training in more than 16 Trades. With
an annual intake capacity of 450 to 650 approx.
with the faculty strength about 117.
The primary objective of the Institute is
to ensure steady flow of skilled workers trained in different trades for the
domestic industrial sectors, to reduce unemployment among the youth by
imparting relevant job-oriented training and employability skills, and to lend
support to the country’s journey towards industrial excellence.
ITI Gariahat maintains an academic and
cultural environment that helps nurture creative skills among students and
motivates them to develop into a industry-ready workforce.
