Government Industrial Training Institute, Chinsurah

This institute was established in the year 1961 under the control of Chief Inspector, Technical Education, Govt. of West Bengal and started its journey as Hooghly Junior Technical School by conducting Junior Diploma in Engineering Course. Further, H.S. Vocational 10+2 Course was also conducted in the past. With the abolition of these two courses, N.C.V.T. Trade Courses under C.T.S. were introduced in 1990. Subsequently, the Vocational Courses of H.S. 10+2 Level and Class VIII+ Level S.T.Cs of the newly-constituted WBSCVE&T were also introduced in 2006 and conducted up to 2014. Meanwhile, in April 2003 the Institute was renamed as Hooghly Industrial Training Center and put under the administrative control of the Director of Industrial Training, Govt. of West Bengal.
