Govt. Industrial Training Institute Balurghat is one of the most renown Training Institute in the district of Dakshin Dinajpur within the state of West Bengal. The Institute started its journey on 24th June 1996 temporarily in DPSC building at Balurghat, Dakshin Dinajpur. Thereafter the Institute got its own permanent address inside the village Atoir under Bidaypur Branch Post Office in Dakshin Dinajpur district on 25th July, 2012. It is approximately 07 kms away from the district Head Quarter Balurghat town and well connected to the National Highway through a bitumin road of half a kilometer approximately. Among Engineering trades the Electronics Mechanic of two years duration besides four non-engineering CTS trades like Food Production (General), Front Office Assistant, Food & Beverage Services Assistant, House Keeper of one year duration each are trained in this Institute. All the courses are NSQF compliant and affiliated by NCVT, MSDE, GOI. Admission process in ITI usually starts from February/March of every year and session starts from August every year. Apart from these, two short-term courses namely Front Office Associate & Food & Beverage Services Associate of SHI under PMKVY 3.0 are being conducted in this Institute. This Institute also caters training in 03 nos. VIII+ vocational courses of six(06) months' duration under WBSCVT viz. Assistant House Wireman & Motor Winder (HWMWA), Servicing of Domestic Electronics Products(SDEPA) & 2/3 Wheeler Mechanic/Technician (2/3WMA). The mission of this Institute is to create a centre of excellence with state-of-art facilities for the purpose of grooming young talents to reach to their utmost level of skill development. The skilled manpower promotes the development of the country. To develop such skill, trainees are engaged in on-job training to experience actual working environment. Moreover, GOI has introduced National Apprenticeship Promotional Scheme (NAPS) to offer the freshers the opportunity of Apprenticeship training with the payment of stipend to enhance their skill further working at worksites of different reputed organisations.
