Convergence Efforts With School Education Department

Convergence with the School Education Department is being taken up for Integration of Vocational Training with School Education which is a need of the hour. As per National Educational Policy-2020 Vocational Education will be integrated with school education in all schools, in phased manner. The project will run in HUB and spoke model where an ITI will act as a HUB and few schools in the vicinity will act as a spokes. Integration will start from class VI and a class X passed out student will acquire NSQF level 3. NIMI/CSTRAI is working on designing of curriculum. To pilot the project 2 Govt. ITIs - ITI Tollygange and Women ITI Siliguri has been identified by the DGT,GoI as HUB. 5 to 10 schools are to be identified as SPOKEs for above HUBs. Target is to give 50% of the school students the exposure to vocational education at early age in middle and secondary school level, by the year 2025.
