Convergence Efforts With Department of Correctional Services

In an effort to make the inmates of different correctional homes in the state self-sufficient so that they can earn their livelihood after their release, various skill development programmes are introduced through ITIs. These trainings provide opportunities for inmates to engage themselves in fruitful pursuits during the term of their sentence in correctional homes and to take care of much needed correctional aspect. Training programme in plumbing, Electrician, Mason, Leather Goods Maker has been provided to the Correctional Home Inmates of Dumdum and Alipore CCH in off campus mode. The CCH s have set up workshops inside CCH campus. ITI Tollygunge and ITI Howrah Homes are the Nodal ITIs to organise such off campus Training Programme.
